With a nice bundle of features plus a large screen, the Pharos Drive 140 GPS is a good choice for users who are always on the go and want a sleek all-in-one portable nav system that can keep up with their road warrior tendencies. The Pharos Drive GPS 140 is equipped with a 20-channel SiRFstarIII and uses Ostia maps of the United States and Canada, which are preloaded on the included 2GB SD card. It also offers a Smart Navigator feature (found under the Power User menu), which is a subscription-based service that provides traffic updates, new maps, a POI finder, and a Follow Me for tracking other members in your group-all wirelessly. The portable navigation device is powered by Pharos’ “OSTIA” software, which offers an easy to use interface for rapid input of addresses and output of driving directions. OSTIA also allows for customization of the device, where users have the option to select from five different languages, choose how they wish to have their route calculated and also decide if they wish to view their route in a “heading up” or “north up” manner. he GPS 140 supports 2D and 3D views, day and night map modes, automatic route recalculation if you veer off track, route demos, and multistop trips. Furthermore, the handsfree Bluetooth feature for cell phones helps to keep eyes on the road when making calls. For added entertainment when driving for long distances, the 140 also comes equipped with a photo viewer, an MP3 player and a video player. Music files as well as video files can be heard in full sound when connected to a vehicles sound system via the speaker outlet jack on the 140. The 140 comes with everything one might need to power the unit and display it in your vehicle. A windshield mounting bracket, USB cable, AC charger, 12-volt DC car charger and 2GB SD card are included, making for easy installation right out of the box.
